Candidatura Romaniei
Romania is one of the five EU countries that have submitted an offer to host the whole ELI project. The proposed site for ELI is Magurele - the Romanian pole of Physics. The main institutions interested to participate in the construction and exploitation of ELI at Magurele are: the National R&D institutes for Lasers, Plasma and Radiation Physics, Nuclear Physics and Engineering, Physics of Materials, Optoelectronics, the Faculty of Physics - Bucharest University, and the Faculty for Applied Sciences - University Politehnica of Bucharest. The consortium is coordinated by the Institute of Atomic Physics which represents also the National Authority for Scientific Research in the ELI-PP project.
